There’s a unique excitement that arises when planning a golf trip to Myrtle Beach. Known for its vast array of perfectly manicured greens and challenging courses, Myrtle Beach also offers some of the most picturesque settings that practically beg to be captured and shared on social media. From sweeping ocean vistas to sweeping fairways lined with majestic live oaks, these most Instagrammable golf courses offer no shortage of inspiration for a golfer who appreciates a good view.
Caledonia Golf & Fish Club
Located in Pawleys Island, Caledonia Golf & Fish Club first opened in 1994. It is one of the most visually impressive golf courses on the South Carolina coast. With meticulously landscaped paths that are lined with centuries-old live oak trees and blooming azaleas, it’s not hard to see why. The 18th hole, equipped with sweeping waterfront views, is a sight that has been known to make even the most seasoned golfer pause for a moment of appreciation – and a quick photo.
Grande Dunes Resort Club
Grande Dunes Resort Club boasts impressive 7600 yards from the back tees, making it one of the longest courses in the area. This course is notable for its undulating greens, wide fairways, and challenging bunkers. However, what truly sets apart Grande Dunes is its view of the Intracoastal Waterway on the 9th and 18th holes, providing a stunning backdrop that makes for a truly unforgettable Instagram photo.
Dunes Club
No list of Myrtle Beach’s Instagrammable golf courses would be complete without mention of the iconic Dunes Golf & Beach Club. Established back in 1948, the Dunes Club offers a rich history coupled with a unique setting. The most Instagram-worthy shot at the Dunes Club can arguably be found at its 13th hole, affectionately called “Waterloo”. This challenging par 5 doglegs around Singleton Lake, creating an inspiring vista that’s splendidly suited for a beautifully composed shot.
Tidewater Golf Club
Tidewater Golf Club, located in North Myrtle Beach, offers up some of the most dramatic views of both the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean. On the 3rd hole, golfers are treated to an eye-catching view of the Cherry Grove Inlet while the 12th hole offers a panorama of the iconic Atlantic coastline.
Heritage Club
The Heritage Club in Pawleys Island is home to Spanish moss-laden trees, fresh water lakes and marshland, constituting a golfer’s paradise. The 18th hole is especially Instagrammable, with a captivating bridge creating a perfect frame for the surpassingly lovely green course.
Visitors to these courses don’t need to be professional photographers to capture their sheer beauty. All it takes is a smartphone and a few moments of pause to appreciate the view, and you have yourself a perfect shot, ready to be shared with the world.
These courses, in conjunction with the many other Instagrammable locations throughout the Myrtle Beach area, create a magical experience that golfers and their digital followers won’t soon forget. After all, the opportunities for memorable shots are as plentiful as the sand traps and water hazards that make these golf courses both a challenge and a delight.
In conclusion, a golf trip that is both challenging and filled with picturesque views will find Myrtle Beach a remarkable destination. Through the experiences at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club, Grande Dunes Resort Club, the Dunes Club, Tidewater Golf Club, and the Heritage Club, golfing in Myrtle Beach is more than just a game—it’s an exceptional visual experience that you can keep revisiting through your Instagram profile. Bring your best clubs, and your best camera, because Myrtle Beach is ready to wow you on and off the green.
Can anyone suggest the best month to plan a trip? I’d like to avoid the tourist rush if possible. Looking forward to capturing some great shots at these courses.
Heritage Club is a hidden gem. Such a serene atmosphere. Perfect place for that peaceful round of golf. But those water hazards, they’ll get you if you’re not careful.
Nice post! Booked a trip to Myrtle Beach last year. I can vouch for the Dunes Club, terrific views from 13th hole (Waterloo). Keep a few extra balls handy though if you’re a hooker like me!
Visited Myrtle Beach few years back. Didn’t get a chance to play as much as I wanted due to some weather issues, but I’m planning another trip this year. Will definitely check out these courses. Thanks for the recommendation!
I’ve played at Grande Dunes and boy those views really are something. But man, those long yards from the back tees were an absolute beast. I need to work on my drive before the next visit.
